Rocco is finally big enough to climb the monkey bar things at a local playground - how did that happen? He's getting too big too fast!

Best Buds!
Seriously, how cute are these two pals? They played so well together! Well, for two year olds anyways. There were some sharing issues, but that's to be expected. For the most part they just loved hanging out, sharing goldfish, and being silly boys.
Also, Alexander *needs* to be a child model - look at that hair and those stylish clothes!

Great Explorations!
This weekend we took a weekend trip to Tampa to visit our friends Lindsay and Theresa and their families. We had a great time catching up, but a highlight for Rocco I think was our outing to Great Explorations, a children's museum close to Lindsay's house. It was the first time we have ever taken Rocco to something like this and he had a ball (both literally and figuratively)!

Hawaii!
What do you do when you are turning 30, it's time to ring in the New Year, and you're expecting a new baby? Why of course, you go on a kid-free 30th Birthday/New Year's Eve/Babymoon Extravaganza to the wonderful state of Hawaii! We were there from Dec 27 through Jan 7, and while I missed Rocco terribly, I greatly enjoyed our first 'real' vacation in over two years. I will be making my typical 'vacation photo album' (yes, photos printed! on real paper! inside a real book! I might be the only person my age who still does this!) but here are some random highlights for those who have no intentions of looking through my book once it's done (which is everyone, but hey, I make the vacation books for myself so whatever):

2014 New Year's Resolutions
Here's my 2014 New Year's Resolutions - let's check back in 364 days and see how I do :)
Good luck to everyone else with their resolutions, whatever they may be!
- Take monthly photos of Pepper (something like the calendar ones I did for Rocco) and at least one 'lifestyle' photo of both Pepper and Rocco every week. I really want to try to get my camera out more this year!
- Lose the baby weight by the end of the year. And if I am really successful, lose some more on top of that to get back to my 'wedding weight'. However that might be unrealistic depending on what the final number is I will have to lose just to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight first.
- Do the whole breastfeeding/pumping thing for Pepper's whole first year of life. I did it for Rocco, hopefully I can do it again!
Good luck to everyone else with their resolutions, whatever they may be!

2013 New Year's Resolutions Re-cap
It's that time again! Time to see if I succeeded or failed miserably at my New Year's Resolutions! In case you forgot, here they are again along with my updates:
1. Take a photo every single day in 2013. Yes, that's right, a photo every.single.day. Why you may ask? Because Scott bought me a new camera for Christmas/my Birthday! Also, because I am insane.
Yeah, that didn't happen. Long story short, Scott's father passed away unexpectedly in February and I didn't feel like picking up the camera every day after that. I tried to at least do some photos every month though.
2. Lose weight. I won't be specific about my current weight, but I will say my goal is 15 pounds lost by May 1st. Hahahaha! I'm pregnant. So obviously this did not happen.
3. Try to cook one "real" dinner a week. Ok, some of you may be saying "What?!". Let me let you in on a secret - I do not cook. Scott does the cooking in this household. This year I am going to make a concerted effort to learn how to cook real meals (i.e nothing frozen or pre-packaged involved). I may or may not share these cooking attempts on my blog. Depends on how well it goes ;)
Nope. Didn't happen. Sorry Scott.
4. This is annoyingly vague, but I have a couple of specific bad habits that I do not want to point out for fear of other people noticing them, but I am going to try to stop this year. Like for real. And no, I am not going to tell you what they are even if I do manage to stop said bad habits.
Some yes, some no. I'd say 50% improvement in this department.
5. Last but not least - THIS will be the year I stop cursing so much! I hope.
Let me tell you - Rocco repeats EVERYTHING now. So I have made great improvement in limiting my cursing. I say limiting because, hey, sometimes things are worth cursing about.
Stay tuned for my 2014 resolutions!
