Family Dinner

After a family dinner at Christine's house, the Mintzes did a rousing rendition of 'The Wheels on the Bus'.

No photo

Sorry - today's photo includes a little nakey baby bottom and I don't feel comfortable posting it on the internets. So you will just have to trust me that I took a photo today :)

Life's a Beach

Today was a beautifully warm, sunny day so we headed out to New Smyrna Beach for our first beach outing of 2013! Unfortunately Scott's parents are renting out their condo for the next two months so it will be some time before we get a chance to go back.

First time 'walking' in the soft sand. He was a little unsure.

Rocco can now stand for a couple of seconds unassisted, but he inevitably falls/sits back down :)

Just watching the waves crash into the shore.

Contemplative Rocco

Love his cute, sandy bottom

A perfect day for flying ;)

Casey

Our first "baby". I have to say, he's been really good with Rocco. Well, as good as can be expected. It's hard going from being an only fur-child, to being second best to a squealing terror toddler who likes to chase after you.

Done with Dinner

This is how we know Rocco is done with his dinner - he flings his sippy from his highchair. Usually half of his dinner is on the floor also.

Playground Fun - Video!

This is my first video with my new camera. I'm pretty happy with how it came out!

Nightime Stroll

This is what happens when you go for a walk at the late night hour of 7:00 pm - it's pitch black outside and the baby falls asleep. I can not wait until Daylight Savings Time begins and it's light outside until 8pm!

Sleep Checks

I love sneaking into Rocco's room and just watching him sleep. (AKA checking to make sure he is still breathing)

Ball Popper

Rocco could play with his elephant ball popper all day if we let him. However the hair dryer sound + annoying repetitive music + trumpeting elephant crescendo = he's only allowed to play with it in 10 minute increments.

Tears

Poor Rocco, he had his 15 month appointment today. We knew he was feeling a little under the weather with a cough and runny nose. We didn't know he had bronchiolitis and a double ear infection. Then he had to get three shots. So he obviously was not a happy camper:

Stats for those who are interested: Height: 32 in (78%) Weight: 21 lb 10 oz (32%)

Briar Patch

Rocco was as excited to be at Briar Patch as we were. Love their 'southern breakfast', it's what I order every time we go. Rocco enjoys eating my sausage patty.

"Hey waitress, give me some milk!"

Pilot Rocco

I saw an aviator type hat at Gymboree about 8 months ago, and I bought it in a larger size so I could do an airplane themed photo shoot with Rocco when he was a little older (Scott is obsessed with airplanes, so I thought it would be fun). Well, the time finally came where the hat fit! So here's the result:

15 Months Old!

This month's theme is "New Year":

Milestones for this month:
- Weight 21lb 10oz (32%), Height 32in (78%)
- Learned to make the fish talking underwater sound (by running his fingers over his lips)
- Can walk very well holding on to only one hand. We think he will be walking independently any day now.

Hoodie

I don't know where this cold weather came from, but at least Rocco looks stylish in his hoodie.

Stroller Sleeping

Lately Rocco has been TERRIBLE about going to sleep on his own. Basically he refuses to go to bed easily, he cries quite a bit - until now. We have finally figured out something that gets him to go to sleep without any tears. We strap him into his cheap umbrella stroller and just rock it back and forth and he goes to sleep without a single fuss. We can't do this forever, I don't want him to develop bad going-to-sleep habits, but for now, this works!

Concentrate

This is Rocco's look of concentration - tongue sticking out and dimple showing. It's pretty cute. (The blue thing is his sippy cup in case you were wondering)

Cozy Coupe

Rocco is ready to roll in his cozy coupe, trying to pick up some ladies and avoid the paparazzi (aka mom)!

Flowering Trees

Flowering trees make the best photos. Especially when all their flowers fall off. Don't believe me? See below.

Sleeping Buddies

I'm not sure who fell asleep first, Casey or Rocco, but the view from my lap is pretty adorable.

Shark Attack

This shark hoodie towel is so cute! Thanks Lindsay and Andrew!

Hissy Fit

What an almost-15-month-old hissy fit looks like. Pathetic isn't it?

Grocery "Helper"

Whenever we try to put groceries away, Rocco tries to "help" by taking them right back out of the refrigerator.

Drummer Boy

My little drummer boy. He knows how to hold the drumsticks correctly and beat on the drum - seriously!

Exersaucer-ed Out

We've been slacking and are just now planning on getting around to converting Rocco's exersaucer into an activity table tonight. But before we do that, I had to take one last photo of him in it. He's grown a bit in the past 10 months, don't you think?

Ball Pit

One of Rocco's Christmas presents was this ball pit. He thinks it's hilarious if you shake it while he is sitting in it, making the balls jump all around him. He also enjoys diving into it head first, the little dare devil.

Ornaments

Rocco helped us take down our Christmas tree ornaments today (the non-glass ones anyways). He's been dying to do it ever since we put them on the tree in the first place. We even had to put a baby gate up around the tree this year to keep his grabby hands off the ornaments. :)

House Phone

Rocco stayed home today since he's still sick, but not too sick to play with his favorite outdated electronic "toy" - our house phone. Yes ladies and gentlemen, we still have a house line. Unheard of - I know!

Sick Day

Rocco was sent home early from daycare today because he vomited several times. The pediatrician believes it's some type of cold/cough-like virus. He's been sleeping since 4pm so he definitely must not be feeling well, poor baby.

Food Pouch

Food pouches are Rocco's second most favorite "food". He gets one almost every day when he comes home from school to help hold him over until it's dinner time. It's also a good way to sneak vegetables into his diet, otherwise he would only eat carbs (pasta, crackers, cheerios, etc). We call him our 'little carb-itarian'.

The Slide

Rocco's new favorite thing at the park is going down the slide. As soon as he gets to the bottom he tries (unsuccessfully) to crawl back up the slide so he can go down it again. Funny boy.

2013 New Year's Resolutions

Alright, let's get right down to it - here are my (somewhat) new and improved resolutions for 2013.
  1.  Take a photo every single day in 2013. Yes, that's right, a photo every.single.day. Why you may ask? Because Scott bought me a new camera for Christmas/my Birthday! Also, because I am insane.
  2. Lose weight. I won't be specific about my current weight, but I will say my goal is 15 pounds lost by May 1.
  3. Try to cook one "real" dinner a week. Ok, some of you may be saying "What?!". Let me let you in on a secret - I do not cook. Scott does the cooking in this household. This year I am going to make a concerted effort to learn how to cook real meals (i.e nothing frozen or pre-packaged involved). I may or may not share these cooking attempts on my blog. Depends on how well it goes ;)
  4. This is annoyingly vague, but I have a couple of specific bad habits that I do not want to point out for fear of other people noticing them, but I am going to try to stop this year. Like for real. And no, I am not going to tell you what they are even if I do manage to stop said bad habits.
  5. Last but not least - THIS will be the year I stop cursing so much! I hope.
Alright, that's it folks. Check back in 364 days to see how I did!
