Key West

Due to an extremely good deal on airfare ($49 each way per person!) we decided to take a last minute trip to Key West! Scott's mom decided to join us, which was extremely helpful having an extra set of hands at times when dealing with a toddler and a newborn. We spent one night in Key West at the Crowne Plaza La Concha right off Duval Street and two nights at Hawks Cay Resort.

How Rocco spent most of the plane ride - watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on our DVD player

Yes, he wore a plane shirt on the plane :)

Gianna and I relaxing at Caroline's - great food by the way!

Obligatory photo op at the Southernmost Point

This is how Gianna spent most of the trip - chilling in her bassinet

The next couple of photos are from our waterproof camera, so the quality isn't as good, but I still love them.

Rocco LOVED this kids play area that he called "Jake the Pirate ship"

Car Seat Comforting

Tonight on the drive home from dinner we heard Gianna fussing a little bit in her car seat, her paci apparently having fallen out of her mouth. However, within minutes both kids were fast asleep, long before we even pulled into our driveway. When we got out of the car and went to take them inside the house we discovered that Rocco, trying to be the helpful big brother that he is, had managed to squeeze his arm between his car seat and the handle of Gianna's car seat, stuck his finger in her pacifier, and tried to put it back into her mouth for her. Unsuccessful, he fell asleep with his arm in that position. Of course I had to run into the house to grab the camera and take a photo of this cute sibling interaction. I love that sweet little boy!

You can see his arm wedged in between their carseats and his hand sooo close to getting her pacifier back in for her

I moved the handle back for this photo so you can see his finger stuck in the paci and both are out for the count. Adorable.

Pennies

Rocco loves throwing pennies in wishing fountains, and this is the biggest fountain he has seen yet! When we asked him what he is wishing for, he will say "More pennies!" - cracks me up!! Luckily, his Nannie always has more than one penny for him in her purse, so wish granted.

Hello

Just a quick snap of Gianna waking up happy, and not hangry (angry from being hungry) for once. Girl likes to eat and sleep, but she's slowly starting to just "hang out" like this more and more.

Great Grandma Glick

Today Gianna met her 95 year old Great Grandma Glick. She was a perfect little angel, letting her Great Grandmother hold her without wiggling at all, as if she knew that she needed to be calm and very still in order to be held. Normally she likes to move around quite a bit, so much that I sometimes refer to her as my little wiggle worm, so it was very surprising how cooperative she was being at the time. It's like they already have an unspoken bond. We'll have to come back up to Jacksonville again soon so they can spend some more time together.

Jacksonville Buddies

This weekend we went up to Jacksonville to visit our friends and family. Of course it's always great seeing Meredith, Cory, Carrie, Matt and Lillian! Carrie and Matt made a delicious brunch and Meredith's contribution of dinosaur muffins were fantastic too. The only thing that beat the food was the great company. Seeing Rocco and Lillian starting to learn to play together was especially cute. I bet they will be great friends as they both get a little bit older.

Friends since 1999!

We'll display this photo at their wedding ;)

Lollipop

Rocco has only been given a lollipop a handful of times, most of those for having successfully sat through a haircut. However, this was the biggest one he has ever seen and you would have thought someone gave him a million dollars. Sometimes it's the simplest things in life that make us the happiest.

Disney's Magical Kingdom

On a whim, we joined our good friend Theresa and her son Alexander at Disney's Magical Kingdom. We have taken Rocco once before, when he was only six months old. Of course now that he is older he was a lot more excited this time around. You see, the boy is OBSESSED with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (the only tv show he watches). When we first walked into the park there was a show going on in front of Cinderella's castle with all the princesses and more importantly to Rocco, Mickey Mouse. For him to see Mickey Mouse in real life, and not in his tv, was like seeing a celebrity. After the show ended he then threw one of the biggest temper tantrums of his life because he wanted to see Mickey again. Of course when he finally did see Mickey up close at a meet and greet hours later, he proceeded to become inconsolably upset and wanted absolutely nothing to do with talking to Mickey. Toddlers.
